Get Ready For The Talent (Not Labor!) Shortage

For the last few years, the dissatisfaction rates of workers in America have been at all-time highs. Yet, due to the lagging economy, most of these unhappy employees have stayed in their jobs, mainly out of fear. But now, the tides are changing, and the opportunity to move successfully to a new job will become more plentiful. HR groups are already discussing this trend and trying to figure what they can do to stop their employees from running out the doors. Everyone in America wants greater work-life balance. So doesn’t it make simple sense that the answer lies in spending less time at work?

The businesses in some countries provide months of vacation to their employees each year, others (Ahem, the USA) don’t offer nearly as much. Why is giving more vacation time so hard to do in America? Isn’t a rested employee a more productive one too? (more…)
